Overview

Mouraria is a magnificent, imposing Moorish style villa and does full credit to its name of "Moorish Summer Palace". This detached house is situated in a residential area on a private estate named Faria Verde, approximately 1.5 km east of Carvoeiro, just behind the Centianes beach. Mouraria has its own beautiful swimming pool and a private tennis court. Mouraria is set on two levels- the ground floor and above that three separate towers, each with its own entrance by a flight of stairs, and the villa is furnished to a very high standard throughout in a Moroccan style with furniture imported from Morocco. Mouraria has 7 bedrooms in total in the main house, all en suite and sleeping 14 persons. The garage has been converted into a separate apartment, creating an 8th bedroom and raising the capacity to 16 persons for clients booking the 8 bedroom rate.

With Wi-fi internet access and air conditioning in the bedrooms, included in the rate. Also included in the rate is the use of the private tennis court, please bring your own tennis equipment. Additional facilities include ceiling fans in all bedrooms, fly screens on all windows and doors and a safe.

The villa is situated on a private estate together with Mimosa and Alegria. The villas can be rented in combination with each other. Alegria sleeps 10, and Mimosa sleeps 6. The villas could be rented during the winter, since they all have central heating and heatable pools.

Living Areas

The spacious entrance hall opens into the living room with comfortable sofas around a fire place and TV set with satellite channels (limited English channels) and DVD/CD player. There is a second sitting area looking out over garden and swimming pool. There is a card table with 4 chairs.

The adjoining dining room seats 14. This spectacular room has two folding walls, which connect the dining room to the large terrace with outdoor fire place. The rooms are very tastefully appointed and decorated in a Moorish style.

The fully fitted kitchen has all modern appliances including a coffee maker, dish washer, freezer, fridge, grill, hob, iron and board, microwave, oven, toaster and washing machine.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Bedrooms: 7 x twin bedrooms, bed linen supplied. All bedrooms are decorated in a different color and are provided with a large ceiling fan and air conditioning. Bathrooms: 7 x bathroom en suite, 1 x separate WC, towels supplied.

On the ground floor you will find the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and three further twin bedrooms, also with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom opens onto the terrace. Further on this floor there is a guest lavatory.

Above the master bedroom on the ground floor there is a tower with a second very large master bedroom. It has a beautiful en-suite bathroom and a private terrace. The other two towers also have a twin bedroom each with en-suite bathroom and terrace. The tower bedrooms offer maximum privacy.

The villa's garage has become an apartment with a twin beds (just like in all other bedrooms), a shower, kitchen, toilet and sitting room with air conditioning. Intended for an au pair, for example, but it can also be used as an 8th bedroom. The space has three windows with blinds. The apartment can be booked as part of the new 8 bedroom rate for the villa.

The large basement is complete with a cinema room and a pool table. There is a terrace with lemon trees in front of the basement and an outdoor table tennis table. Ideal for children / teenagers.

Outside Space

A lovely driveway leads to the main entrance of the villa. There is space for parking on the villa forecourt. From the living room, doors open onto the large, partly covered terrace. The eight-shaped swimming pool measures approximately 14 x 5 metres and can be heated for a weekly supplemental charge (no pool cover), and there is also an additional small paddling pool for children. There is a private tennis court and the delightful garden on the 5000 sqm plot has lots of palm trees, olive trees, banana trees, orange and lemon trees and a large lawn, ideal for children to play. Large gas barbecue, fireplace on the terrace, pergola, comfortable terrace furniture, 14 deluxe sunbeds and two large professional umbrellas.

Mouraria is set on a private estate, named Faria Verde, approximately 1.5 km east of Carvoeiro, just behind the Centianes beach. Shops, restaurants and bars are 5 minutes by car or approximately 15 minutes walk away- Carvoeiro's restaurant hill is just 1.1kms.

Other Items

Rates include a midweek maid cleaning service with bathroom towel change. Pool towels are provided for your convenience. Linen is changed weekly. A highchair and wooden cot are available at the villa, free of charge. Underfloor heating is available in the main villa at a supplemental cost. This is a non-smoking villa and pets are not allowed.
