Manoels Jazz Bar is located in Monte Carvoeiro's central square and boasts a worldwide reputation for having some of the best Jazz artists play there.
The cool and chic upper bar is the perfect place to enjoy good sounds and an early evening drink. The upper bar opens out onto the terrace and Monte Carvoeiro square, a self contained square lined with palm trees and a central fountain, just right for the year round warm Algarve nights.
The downstairs bar is darker and more intimate. This is where the monthly live concerts are staged. Here you can find plenty of jazz memorabilia on display, including several of Manoel Guerreiro’s saxophones. The Monday night concerts of Guerreiro, the founder of Manoel's Jazz club, and his quintet were legendary and are still talked about. People from far afield travel to revel in the history of the famous lower jazz bar.
You can still enjoy live jazz concerts at Manoel's. The first Friday of every month brings some great live performances to the downstairs bar and entrance is free. However if jazz isn't your thing, Manoel's also has live music on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with a more mainstream rock and pop repertoire. For music lovers of any stripe Manoel's Jazz Club has just the right mix of cool and mellow making it a great place to spend some time.
