Overview

Villa Olena is a meticulously kept villa with a superb location that provides the unique opportunity to experience Tuscan life. Situated on over 11 hectares of olive groves, vineyards, pastures and woods, the villa assures complete privacy and outstanding views over the Tuscan hills with its cypresses, hamlets and country houses. With wi-fi internet access and air conditioning in the bedrooms and most of the other rooms, included in the rate.

The beautifully restored stone country home is located half way between the art cities of Florence and Siena. You can relax and slow down under the wisteria-covered loggia or on the covered porch. The pool and the pool area are surrounded by flowers, lawn and old terracotta pots.

The estate produces excellent organic wines and olive oil

A nice and enriching experience for families are the farm animals at the property. The hens enjoy a humane lifestyle and provide our guest with fresh eggs. The Mangalitsa pigs from Hungary have been imported because their meat (even their fat) is highly regarded in the culinary world and has no cholesterol. The pigs are forest foragers and have a large fenced area of our woodland where they can roam freely. We supplement what they find with a special blend of corn, grain and beans.

The most recent additions to the family of farm animals are two Amiatino donkeys - a local Tuscan breed of donkey and they love treats of carrots and apples.

The villa is an excellent base for exploring the villages in Chianti, the famous medieval cities and the Tuscan art cities.

Living Areas

Ground floor- Entrance area, kitchen with dining table, bright living room with exit to the garden and dining area, two bedrooms both with exit to the garden, one with ensuite bathroom (shower and tub), one bathroom with shower.

The kitchen equipment includes an oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, American-style-refrigerator and freezer, 5-flame stove top, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The separate laundry room houses the washing machine and dryer.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Villa Olena sleeps a maximum of 10 people . 5 Queen bedrooms (of which 1 with additional sofabed). Three of the queen beds can be converted to twins upon request. 5 bathrooms (all with showers and tubs). Most bedrooms have their own private entrances, but all in the main house are connected by the interior stairways. There is an ipod docking station in each bedroom.

Garden with Lawn, terraces, porch, pizza oven. Fenced swimming pool (saltwater -chlorine free) in a panoramic location, open from 1st May to 30th September. Stunning views onto the Chianti landscape. Parking lot for cars.

Closest village is San Donato in Poggio (2 km), Province of Florence. Other Distances- Greve in Chianti 25 min, Florence 35 min, Siena 40 mi, Airport Florence 40 min.

Other Items

Rates include electricity, cooking gas, water, use of swimming pool, final cleaning service, wifi Internet, air conditioning, 2 hour daily maid service (Mon-Fri) and mid-week linen change, local telephone calls, welcome gift. Also a complimentary bottle of the estates olive oil, wine and a free wine tasting tour.

The following items can be requested and are paid for locally- Heating (if required), fire wood, additional maid service, dinners upon request, first shopping service.

The breakage deposit for this villa is €750 which is paid pre-departure on a credit card.

The housekeeper of the villa will be happy to provide a foodpack for you upon arrival, the price will be the hourly cost of the maid to do the shopping, plus the receipt for the groceries. Please advise us of the list of groceries you would like to have when you arrive.

In addition to the stunning scenery and the tranquil, relaxing environment that the Tuscany region affords, there is also plenty to do with your family and friends! Practice your Italian cooking in the villa's well equipped kitchen, wine tastings in the fabulous Chianti vineyards, walking in the beautiful hills and countryside, swimming in your private pool, bicycle rides, tennis, golf, sightseeing visits to the beautiful local villages, and not forgetting trips to the magnificent cities of Florence and Siena, both of which are steeped in history and tradition.

One of the great holiday experiences when staying at a villa in Tuscany is to have a private dinner cooked for you by a professional Italian cook. It has to be said that Italian home cooking really is second to none, with the use of tasty seasonal and local ingredients and complimented by a glass of the fine local Chianti wines. You can book this additional service so that you can enjoy the fine evenings relaxing at your villa with your family and friends, enjoying the excellent food and the stunning scenery long into the Summer evenings.
