Jaipur Indian Restaurant enjoys mythical status in the Algarve and should be on the bucket list of everyone visiting Albufeira. It is no exaggeration to say over the years diners from all over the world have made the pilgrimage to this king of curry houses. Located more or less in the centre of Albufeira old town a visit to Jaipur restaurant is a case of love at first smell.

Established in 2006 this small but excellent restaurant has long been a favourite with tourists and locals. Its plain white walls adorned with neat Indian prints and plain wooden floors point to a non-pretentious restaurant that is famed for its delicious food and incredible service.

The menu offers satisfying, moreish food, the kind you always want from an Indian restaurant. Tandoori, chicken, lamb, prawn and vegetable creations are all available with equal prominence given to meat and vegetarian dishes. You'll find all the Indian classics you would expect along with a few tempting house specials. The whole menu is also available for take-away.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and staff are very attentive without spilling over into intrusive. Their nothing-is-too-much-trouble attitude adds to its appeal. No matter how large your party or how little notice you give them they’ll endeavour to get everybody seated as soon as possible.

Jaipur does take drop in diners but it is best to book ahead to avoid disappointment, especially large groups. However if you arrive at a particularly busy time the bar helps make the wait more than bearable.
