Overview

Villa Matilda is a superb four bedroom villa with a private pool which can be heated for a weekly supplement, perfectly positioned in the heart of Dunas Douradas. Just a short stroll takes you to the golden sands of the Dunas Douradas beach, as well as the ever popular Maria’s beach bar and restaurant.

Refurbished throughout, the villa has been thoughtfully designed to offer a relaxing and comfortable stay. It’s an excellent choice for families looking for a relaxed yet well appointed base in one of the Algarve’s most sought-after locations.

Outside, the inviting pool area is ideal for long, sunny days, while the addition of pool heating ensures it can be enjoyed year-round. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi internet are included in the rental rates.

Living Areas

The entrance hall opens into a modern kitchen finished in striking red and black tones. Fully equipped for a comfortable stay, it features an integrated electric oven, grill & microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, American style fridge freezer, four electric hobs with an extractor, a dishwasher, juicer, blender, toaster, kettle, and an additional smaller fridge. There’s also a convenient breakfast table with seating for four persons, ideal for relaxed mornings, along with a wall mounted flat screen Smart TV showing the same channels as the lounge TV.

Just off the kitchen you will find the separate utility room which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron & ironing board. On the same level, you’ll find an elegant dining area seating eight people.

A few steps lead down to the inviting living room with an 'L' shaped sofa & an arm chair, a flat screen Smart TV showing a wide range of English speaking channels including the popular channels BBC, ITV. Sky Sports and TNT Sports. (Please bring your own log-in credentials to enjoy Netflix, Amazon Prime etc). Patio doors from the living area open onto a shaded patio and outdoor seating space, perfect for enjoying long, leisurely days outdoors. There is also a guest cloakroom located in the hallway.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

All four bedrooms feature wall mounted flat screen TV's showing the same selection of channels as the main lounge TV. Bedroom one is a twin room (2 x 0.90m x 2m) with fitted wardrobes, split unit air conditioning, and an en suite shower room with a heated towel rail. Patio doors lead to the garden & pool. Bedroom two is a twin room (2 x 0.90m x 2m) with fitted wardrobes, spit unit air conditioning and an en suite shower room with a heated towel rail. Patio doors lead to the garden & pool. Bedroom three is a double room (1.60m x 2m double bed) with a walk-in dressing area with fitted wardrobes, a safe, and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Patio doors open onto a small private terrace furnished with two chairs and a parasol. Bedroom four is a double room (1.80m x 2m) with fitted wardrobes, split unit air conditioning, and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail. Patio doors open onto the poolside terrace.

Outside Space

The outdoor areas are a real highlight of the villa, centred around an attractive rectangular pool measuring approximately 10m x 6 m with steps for easy entry and can be heated for a weekly supplemental and has a cover to help retain the heat in the evenings, making it a great option throughout the year. Comfortable rattan seating is arranged across the terraces, with a mix of sofas, armchairs and plenty of sun loungers & parasols to choose from. There is also an outside shower so you can rinse off before or after a dip! Whether you prefer relaxing in the sun or unwinding in the shade, there are several secluded spots both at ground level and on the upper terrace, accessed via steps from the garden. The terrace features a gas BBQ and food preparation area with a sink. Al fresco meals can be enjoyed at the large table with seating for eight, ideal for outdoor dining. The property is accessed via electric gates, and the spacious driveway provides ample parking.

Location

The beach is just a few minutes’ level walk from the villa, where you’ll find a selection of restaurants and miles of golden sand stretching in both directions. The Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy is also within easy walking distance, ideal for those looking to stay active during their stay.

A short drive brings you to nearby supermarkets, as well as the renowned golf courses of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. For shopping and dining, both Bougainvillea Plaza and Quinta Shopping offer a good choice of boutiques, cafés and restaurants. Faro Airport is conveniently located just a 20-minute drive away, making arrivals and departures straightforward.

Guests staying at Villa Matilda are entitled to visit and use the Dunas Douradas resort central area, which has a communal pool, sun bathing terraces, pool bar and restaurant.

Rates include maid cleaning service Mon, Wed & Fri with a mid week towel change and a weekly towel & bed linen change. Pool towels a safe and hairdryers are provided for your convenience.
