Villa Calliope is set amongst the Lucca hills, that divide the medieval city from the coast.

Formerly an old farmhouse, Villa Calliope has been lovingly restored by its owners to become an elegant and charming residence where the simple spaces of a country house have been transformed into harmonious settings and the alchemy between poor and rich materials have made it the perfect residence for a relaxing, comfortable holiday in the Lucca countryside.

A large property, it offers spacious and very comfortable accommodation in 5 bedrooms, with an additional 3 single beds, for 3 persons, available on request.

All bedrooms have access to their own bathroom or shower room, and all are air-conditioned, there is a well-equipped and modern kitchen, a beautiful living area and lovely swimming pool and garden area.

At a distance of 15 km from the historic centre of Lucca, it is also well-located for the main Tuscan cities of art such as Pisa and Florence and Siena.

Living Areas

The house is set over three levels.

On the first floor, via an entrance staircase (5 steps), entry to the large living room furnished with a comfy sofa & chairs, Satellite TV & WIFI; continuing through an archway to the spacious and well-equipped kitchen with a central island, with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and door to outdoor patio, a bathroom & laundry area with washing machine.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

The house is set over three levels.

On the first floor, via an entrance staircase (5 steps), 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room.

On the second floor, via a staircase of 18 steps, there are four further bedrooms – 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom – which can be made up as a double, 1 triple bedroom – one double & 1 single & 1 quadruple bedroom – one double & 2 singles), 3 bathrooms & 1 shower room.

The capacity of the villa is 10 persons, with an extra 3 persons, to be accommodated in the 3 single beds in the triple & quadruple bedrooms above, being available on request.

Air-conditioning in the living area, kitchen & bedrooms, at a supplementary charge (note - this comes under electricity usage, charge of 0.70 euros/kwh usage)..

Outside Space

A garden with flowering plants and shrubs surrounds the house (note – care should be taken with the cross-bar balustrades, enclosing the drops, around the garden and the pool area).

The swimming pool is rectangular, measures 10m x 5m, with a depth of 1.5m throughout and accessed by 4 large stone steps.

The first cot and highchair are available on request, provided free of charge. Any further cots and highchairs, are available on request, at a supplementary charge.

The villa will be cleaned and fully prepared for arrival. There will be a change of bed linen & towels after 7 days.

Final Cleaning: 350 Euros, payable locally.

Air-conditioning in the living area, kitchen & bedrooms, at a supplementary charge (note - this comes under electricity usage, charge of 0.70 euros/kwh usage).

Central heating throughout, available on request for early or late season lets, at a supplementary charge of 35 euros per day.

Regarding the above charges, please note they may change in view of the energy situation & possible price fluctuations.

The capacity of the villa is 10 persons, with an extra 3 persons, to be accommodated in the 3 single beds in the triple & quadruple bedrooms above, available on request, at a supplementary charge of 100 euros per person per week.

The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May (01/5/2024) until the beginning of October (01/10/2024).

Note - Tourist tax is not included in the villa rental rate and the villa may be subject to this. Tourist tax varies per area and will be advised by the villa owner & local agent on arrival & check-in at the villa accordingly, this charge is applicable to all guests aged 14 years and over.
