Nestled into a sizeable bay the Praia de Vale Centianes often provides a nice alternative to Carvoeiro's main beach which is located slightly further round the coast in the centre of town.
Centianes is a large stretch of sand and has a number of facilities with various beach activities on offer. You can enjoy pedal boating, shades and sun loungers alongside the nearby provision of drinks and food from various restaurants and bars along the paved entrance including toilet and shower facilities. During the summer season the beach is supervised giving you that extra sense of security.
With the high cliffs offering shelter from the wind Vale de Centeanes beach is a haven for sun-worshippers. The cliffs make this beach beautifully secluded from the surrounding scenery of hotels and are a point of interest in themselves. On the west there's a cave accessible by foot and further east a quiet area appears, the perfect place for those seeking peace and privacy.
Praia de Vale Centianes is easily accessible by car with free parking but bear in mind that parking is restricted especially in the summer months. If you are driving and want to be sure of a space, the earlier you leave the better. Alternatively the beach is around 20 minutes walking distance from Carvoeiro town centre.
