Named after the famous Evaristo Restaurant, Praia do Evaristo is a large sandy beach encircled by beautiful scenery. Backed by low, sloping ochre cliffs this pleasant sandy beach is dotted with large rock formations which are great for exploring and give it a cosy feel.
The beach has fine golden sand with a number of rocky nooks and crannies provided by the various rock formations. These rocky outcrops provide an ideal environment for those who enjoy snorkelling, the marine life here can be seen in abundance. The sea is safe and clean and has an average summer seawater temperature of 20-23 °C.
Praia do Evaristo offers good infrastructure and amenities. During the summer season the beach is patrolled by lifeguards and there are loungers, parasols and pedalos available for hire. With its boardwalks running east and west along the back of the beach from the central car park Praia do Evaristo has good access for anyone trying to navigate it with prams or wheelchairs. There are showers and toilets available at the eastern end of the beach next to the snack bar.
A must visit is Evaristo beach restaurant. There is no menu list and you have to choose your fish or the seafood before you sit down. Whatever you order it will be very fresh and delicious. Evaristo’s reputation grows with every summer so making a reservation is recommended.
