Mediterranean Restaurant

2 Passos (pronounce Dos Passos) means two steps in Portuguese reflecting its closeness to the ocean and shoreline. Located near Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo 2 Passos stands on high stilts atop sand dunes overlooking the Ria Formosa nature reserve.

There are several meat dishes to choose from on the menu, but fish and seafood is really what it's all about. The daily catch is sold by weight and then prepared at the table rather than as individual dishes which is a novel, but perfectly sensible way to order. As if to flaunt its fresh food bona fides the menu changes daily depending on what is available at the local market.

Open all year round 2 Passos is special no matter what the season. Very popular with both residents and tourists 2 Passos offers consistently great food, a relaxed atmosphere and a superb location. Although only open for lunch (and reservations are recommended particularly during the summer months) 2 Passos accepts group reservations for dinner.

It’s location on Praia de Ancão in the heart of the Golden Triangle is stunning yet fairly quiet. They take great care to preserve what makes this location beautiful. To reach 2 Passos the last 100 or so metres to the restaurant is covered on foot. The last stretch is over wooden sleepers laid on the dunes that lead up to the restaurant. This infrastructure was introduced to help tackle the erosion of the dune system and keep the area picturesque for generations.
