As part of Sun-hat's ongoing aim to experience the destinations we recommend to our guests, I recently spent time exploring Puerto Portals in Mallorca - one of the island's most stylish and sophisticated coastal hotspots.

A morning among the super yachts

One of my favourite ways to start the day was with a leisurely stroll around the marina.

Puerto Portals is renowned for its impressive collection of luxury yachts, and wandering along the waterfront provides endless opportunities to admire these incredible vessels while soaking up the atmosphere. The marina has a distinctly cosmopolitan feel, attracting visitors from across Europe and beyond.

Whether you're a boating enthusiast or simply enjoy people-watching, there's always something fascinating to see whether that's a new ABT Lamborghini, the latest Sunseeker or a celebrity or two.

Lunch at Cappuccino

After exploring the harbour, I stopped for lunch at Cappuccino, one of Puerto Portals' most iconic waterfront venues.

With a table overlooking the marina, it was the perfect place to sit back, enjoy delicious food and watch the world go by. The combination of sparkling blue waters, luxury yachts and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere made it one of those memorable holiday moments that Mallorca does so well.

Seeing Palma from the sea

One of the highlights of my trip was taking a yacht excursion (there are also lots of opportunities to hire your own boat in Portals) along Mallorca's beautiful coastline.

Experiencing Palma from the water offered a completely different perspective of the city, with breathtaking views of the magnificent Palma Cathedral rising above the shoreline. Seeing this iconic landmark from the sea was truly unforgettable and provided some fantastic photo opportunities along the way.

The calm Mediterranean waters and stunning coastal scenery made the experience feel incredibly special.

An afternoon of relaxation at the Lobster Club

If I had to choose a favourite part of the entire trip, spending the afternoon at Lobster Club would be high on the list.

The stylish beach club combines luxury and relaxation perfectly, with a stunning infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet welcoming, making it the ideal place to unwind and enjoy Mallorca's beautiful sunshine.

With panoramic sea views in every direction, it's easy to understand why Lobster Club has become one of the island's most sought-after destinations.

Lunch with a view at UM Beach

Another standout experience was lunch at UM Beach.

Set against the backdrop of the sparkling Mediterranean, the restaurant offers spectacular sea views and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Sitting just steps from the water while enjoying lunch was the perfect way to embrace Mallorca's laid-back lifestyle.

It's exactly the kind of place where hours seem to pass effortlessly.

Cocktails and dancing at Ritzi

As evening arrived, Puerto Portals transformed into one of Mallorca's most stylish nightlife destinations.

The perfect end to the day was cocktails at Ritzi, followed by an evening of music and dancing. The lively atmosphere, elegant surroundings and beautiful marina setting create an unforgettable night out.

It's easy to see why Puerto Portals remains a favourite among both locals and visitors looking for sophisticated evening entertainment.
