Laid out over low lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones in Vilamoura and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere.
Laguna Golf Course open fairways with very few trees encourages players to brandish their driver often. Be warned driving on the 11th and 12th could cost you a few balls if you take on the lake. 79 strategically placed bunkers add to the difficulty, which influence play. There are permanent obstacles on 11 of the 18 holes.
These factors combined with the occasional strong wind make for an interesting round at Laguna Golf Course which has been subject to continual improvements over the years.
